COVID-19 - Important Hire Information

We are pleased to be able to announce that following the relaxation by the government of some Covid-related restrictions, we are now in a position to be able to accept private hire bookings once again, for dates starting from early August.

You will notice a few differences at least for the next few months. Due to the need for the centre to be fully cleaned between different groups, we will only be able to host one event a day (previously we could offer two booking slots to different groups).

While mask wearing, social distancing and checking in with the track and trace app are no longer legal requirements, they do remain important according to medical experts and we will ask hirers to consider continuing to do these things based on what is appropriate for the attendees at their events. We will also ask hirers to keep contact details for all attendees at their event for 21 days (but we will not ask hirers to share this with us) and to agree to our passing hirer contact details to Bracknell Forest Council for track and trace purposes if we learn of any Centre visitor testing positive for Covid.

Over the next few weeks we hope to welcome back some of our regular hirers too, we will publicise restarting information for these groups and classes when they confirm their plans.

Please remember the centre is primarily managed by volunteers and we expect many enquiries about our reopening, so please allow a few days for responses.

We also need volunteers to open and close for our private events, without them the centre would not be able to open! Visit the Community Events page to submit your details.

Thank you for your support and understanding!

FAQs

FAQs

Can we sell tickets for an event?
No. You will need a license for this (see Bracknell Forest Council website for advice). However, you are allowed to host fundraising events within the centre.

Do you have availability?
There is no need to e-mail or call us for availability as all available slots are shown online - Press Browse Availability above. Note available slots are removed from public view as soon as someone makes a request.

I see a gap in the event calendar - why can't I request this?
We rely on a small group of volunteers to open and close the centre for occasional bookings and therefore only open certain slots to the public - Press Browse Availability above. You are welcome to make a special request through our contact us page for consideration.

Can I turn up early for a booking/Do I get extra time to clean up?
All bookings times must be adhered to per your booking confirmation. Bookings may run back to back and Volunteers give up their time to open and close the centre. We will not be available to open or close at a different time, unless specifically agreed by the committee. We reserve the right to retain any security deposit if you are late completing your hire.

Are we allowed alcohol?
You can seek permission from the committee to consume alcohol on site (via your hiring agreement if you book), however, you will need a temporary licence from the council to sell alcohol on site.

Are we allowed a bouncy castle?
Yes, however please note that some restrictions apply. They must be hired from a PIPA-accredited company (the inflatable play industry association), be used according to manufacturers instructions, and supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

Do you recycle/provide waste disposal on site?
Yes, we have the council provided glass recycling bins at the back of the car park. We do ask that ALL hirers remove waste from the building after any event to reduce the running costs of the centre.

What kitchen facilities do you have?
There are two kitchens at the centre – a main kitchen between the hall and meeting room (with serving window access to both) and an additional smaller kitchen with a serving window to outside (next to the multi-use games area). Mugs, plates, cutlery and some basic utensils are provided but the kitchens are not fully equipped for food preparation.

Can we bring/prepare food?
You are more than welcome to bring your own, prepared food to the site and we have a basic stocked kitchen. We also have a microwave and oven for food reheating. We would advise that you bring anything you think you need so that you aren’t left unprepared!

Do you have tables and chairs we can use?
We have tables and chairs to use for your hire as well as small ones for children. Please note we do not have baby/todler highchairs.

Do you have a sound system or projector?
The main hall contains a sound system and projector. Please let us know if you intend to use these with your hire.

What are the parking facilities?
We have spaces for up to 52 cars, plus 4 marked disabled bays and 2 minibus bays. Hirers are asked to avoid parking in the streets around the centre. Plenty of cycle parking is provided at the Centre.

When can we use the sports pavilion/facilities?
We don’t know. We are working with the council to take over the running of these as soon as they are complete, however, as soon as we know, we will communicate this to everyone using our many social networking links!
